Orí Harmelin

The lute player Orí Harmelin was born in 1981. The fascination with early music led him to his studies at the Early Music Institute in Trossingen, Germany under Rolf Lislevand and Kees Boeke’s tutelage, followed by studies in the Zurich Art academy under the tutelage of Eduardo Eguez. Orí is a co-founder of ensemble Santenay (2004-2017). He is the house lutenist of ensembles Profeti della Quinta and Voces Suaves. After having released numerous Albums with various ensembles, Orí released his debut solo album NESHIMA (2021), and his second solo album VISÉE KAPSBERGER BACH (2026). Orí performs regularly in Europe, North America, and Asia. In addition to his passion for music, Orí is a Gestalt therapist and hosts the podcast “The Curious Case Of Freedom.” He lives in Basel, Switzerland.
