Ian Prichard

Bass Ian R. Prichard maintains an active performance schedule among Chicago's leading professional ensembles, holding positions with the Chicago Symphony Chorus, the Grant Park Music Festival Chorus, and Lyric Opera of Chicago. In the 2025-26 Season he has enjoyed appearing with some of the nation’s most well-known ensembles such as The Newberry Consort and Santa Fe Desert Chorale.

His recent appearance with the Newberry Consort in "Corkscrews, Coils and Clocks" drew notice from the Chicago Classical Review, which praised his "warmly rounded bass,” while his seasons with the Desert Chorale have encompassed both performance and outreach in Santa Fe.

A versatile interpreter, Prichard has performed operatic roles ranging from Seneca in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea to Sarastro in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, appeared in small ensemble performances at Symphony Center, and toured choral masterworks across Europe. He is also a long-time collaborator with the William Ferris Chorale, Bella Voce, His Majesty’s Men, and Constellation Men's Ensemble. 

Prichard earned a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, along with a Certificate in Vocal Performance, from University of South Carolina.
