Hannah DePriest
Soprano Hannah De Priest is a fearless performer renowned for her “masterful” (Olyrix) performances of Baroque repertoire. Consistently described as a “standout” and praised for her “bright, ideally-focused sound, allied to a probing expressive intelligence” (Chicago Classical Review), the young soprano enjoys a fast-rising global career and maintains strong artistic ties to Chicago. Recent highlights include multiple lead roles and recording projects with the Boston Early Music Festival and appearances with the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Innsbruck Early Music Festival, Music of the Baroque, Carmel Bach Festival, Ars Lyrica Houston, and Baroque Festival of Corona del Mar, among many others. Her "radiant" (Early Music America) debut solo album Arcadian Dreams was released in spring 2026. Her 2026-27 season includes return engagements with Haymarket Opera, Boston Early Music Festival, Bach in the City, Music of the Baroque, and The Newberry Consort. She will also make debuts with the Grand Rapids and Saint Joseph Symphony Orchestras. Hannah has earned acclaim at numerous international competitions, winning 2nd Prize at the Cesti Competition for Baroque Opera in 2021. She is also a laureate of the London Handel Competition, the Handel Aria Competition, Le Concours Corneille, the Bethlehem Bach Festival, and the Luminarts Cultural Foundation Competition.
