Hanna Bingham
Violinist Hanna Bingham is an active performer in Chicago's vibrant early music and modern classical scenes. She holds a Master's degree in Strings Performance from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music, where she began her exploration of early music in the Baroque Music Ensemble, directed by Dr. Stephan Alltop. There, she studied historically informed performance practice under Prof. David Douglass, whose violin she later inherited and now performs on. Following her studies at Northwestern, she continued to deepen her understanding of period style and ornamentation with Alan Choo and Brandi Berry Benson.
Since then, Hanna has built a versatile career performing on baroque violin throughout the US, regularly appearing with early music ensembles including Apollo's Fire, Bella Voce, and Twisted Pearl. She has performed at notable venues such as Severance Hall in Cleveland, the Chicago Cultural Center, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
Hanna is delighted to join the Newberry Consort, continuing her commitment to bringing historically informed performance practice to audiences in Chicago and beyond.
