BACK LIVE! A Mexican Christmas

A Mexican Christmas

About the Concert

This one-of-a-kind concert celebrates the music of the streets and convents of 17th century Mexico. Our convent ensemble will ravish your senses with elegant music and evocative poetry, sung by eight female voices and played by organ, harp, bajón, guitar, sacbut, and viol.

EnsAmble Ad-Hoc’s villancico ensemble will have you dancing in your seats with its infectious rhythms, colorful texts and exotic sounds of traditional instruments.

They bring an arsenal: percussion, including a burro’s jawbone, harp, violins, and descendants of the Spanish guitar, including jaranas (jaranas mosquito & tercera), requinto, huapanguera guitar, and leona. Join us for this beloved holiday tradition!
