Amaranta Flores-Gualtieri 

Amaranta Flores-Gualtieri is a Chicago native currently completing student teaching in the subject of Chorus at Lakeview HS with her talented and dedicated co-operating teacher Puja Ramaswamy. After she completes student teaching she will earn her BMEd (Bachelors of Music Education) from VanderCook College of Music. She currently works as a Program Assistant with the Chicago Children’s Choir at the Humboldt Park Neighborhood choir. She herself grew up in this organization which now serves 5800 children in 56 schools and 11 neighborhoods throughout the city. During her upbringing with the Chicago Children’s Choir (CCC), she experienced a deep connection to the choir’s mission, which is committed to peacefully uniting a diverse world through education, excellence and expression. She continues to sing with the CCC in the alumni group known as Vocality. This past summer they performed the Leonard Bernstein MASS under the direction of Mr. Bernstein’s protege, Marin Alsop, and were filmed by the BBC who will be creating a documentary on MASSthat will be aired Easter of 2020. She is beyond thrilled to be part of a group of Latino musicians performing music of Las Posadas, A Mexican Christmas!
